The world renowned Stratford upon Avon Royal Shakespeare theatre, built in the Art Deco style of the 1930's is being transformed into an exciting new stage experience which its designers promise will bring players and audience closer together. The Royal Shakespeare theatre will reopen in 2010.

The Courtyard Theatre, situated on Stratford upon Avons Southern Lane, is home to Royal Shakespeare Company. Its exciting new stage configuration a prototype for the redeveloped Royal Shakespeare Theatre, hailed a great success, it literally brings the players into the audiences space. An exciting experience for performer and audience alike.

Recent productions at The Courtyard, Hamle and Loves labours lost, actors Patrick Stewart, David Tenant, (Hamlet) and Dame Judy Dench are frequent performers, December will see the arrival of 'Romeo and Juliet' and 'Don John'.

The Dell theatre is the RSC's outdoor stage in the theatre gardens. In the summer months it plays host to a range of community play productions, school drama festivals and Shakespeare-related shows by drama schools, colleges and universities from around the country.
